week 14...

isla is getting bigger every week!

she was very animated during our photo shoot this week so i have two pictures of week 14!

this was her first real giggle when i was taking this picture... so glad i have this picture!

 we went home to see my parents last weekend and had a great visit.

we got to spend father's day with joe's family!

it was a very special first father's day for joe.

doesn't isles (yes, that's a nickname she has acquired) look so much older!

she still puts anything in her mouth and we are full on rolling over everywhere!  she started rolling from her back to front when we put her to sleep at night.  so no more swaddling because she is all over the place in that crib!  she started out on the play mat and when i came back in the room she was rolling across the floor!

we had some sweet friends in town over the weekend and it was so fun to visit and let the kids play!

and we had a little fish/chicken fry on friday night to celebrate joe and kat's birthdays!  here is isla helping me make daddy's yummy carrot cake!

meryl and pearse love each other... it's so cute!  and they got to meet jillian friday night and i think they were all so cute together!

on saturday the daddies watched all the kiddos and the girls did a little estate sale shopping!  we literally walked out of one house with about 20 things for like $70... i love a good estate sale!  check out the back of the car!

on monday we went to the arboretum with some friends!

it's been a busy weeks with lots of friends and family... just the way we like it!

fun father's day gifts!

i wanted to do something special for joe's first father's day.  i found this great place called quiggly's clay house where you can paint any kind of pottery you want and then they will fire it for you and it turns out so cute!  so isla and i and delaney and jillian all got our craft on!  let's just say it was a very entertaining afternoon.  after a massive blow out in the car seat, some throw up on the floor of the craft shop, and two screaming kids we came home with some really great gifts!!  jillian was definitely not a fan!

and neither was isla... 

but delaney and i had a great time and plan to go back soon for ladies night!! 

delaney definitely spelled father wrong on her first try!!  haha... love it!

and by the end of the afternoon this is what we had! HILARIOUS!!

it was all worth it in the end because we have some great memories and two very happy daddies!

happy 29th birthday babe!

i'm so thankful to have you as my husband and best friend.  i know i love birthdays way more than you do, so i have no intention of making this a big deal.  but i want you to know how much you mean to me and that i can't imagine my life without you.  i look forward to celebrating 60 more birthdays with you.

and i couldn't be more proud of the incredible dad that you are.  you have been excellent at everything from changing dirty diapers to rocking our baby girl to sleep.

happy father's day

happy first father's day to my sweet husband!  

i always knew that joe would be a great dad but nothing could have prepared me for the first time i saw him hold our baby girl and the overwhelming sense of love i had in that moment.  

he is already such a fantastic daddy.  he is so sweet with isla and it melts my heart to see them sit and smile and laugh at each other. you can already tell she love's him so much.  she gets excited to see him when joe goes in to get her in the morning after he has been at work all night.  it's so cute!! 

thank you for being such a great husband and dad.  we love you so much!

also wanted to wish a happy father's day to my wonderful daddy!  he has always worked so hard for our family and never complained!  he is loving and kind and would do anything for anyone.  

and he is such a great pops to our little isla!  thank you for everything dad, love you!

week 13...

i really cannot believe isla is 3 months old!  

everyone told me the time would fly by and they weren't lying!

she is such a sweet baby and every day is a new adventure!  last week she started to roll over from her tummy to her back.   then i found her on her tummy this morning (which is not how i put her to sleep)!

and we are definitely past the stage of not buckling her into things!

i hate that it is so hot because isla loves being outside!  usually our walks end up like this...

then we cool off in the baby pool!

week 12...

even though i'm about a week late here is miss isla at 12 weeks!

we have started liking our bumbo (for short periods at a time).  and she loves mr. cow!  she will lay on the play mat and have some serious conversations with that cow!!

last week kristen, avery, ben and sassy stopped by to see us!  avery was just so sweet with isla.  she wanted to hold her and kept touching her face real soft and then aves asked me if isla loved her... isn't that just the sweetest thing you have ever heard!  

and of course kristen is like the baby whisperer!  i think kids and babies can just sense that she is the most loving person and so much fun!

ben and sassy!!  those two are hilarious!  let's just say, i had no more candy in my house when they left.  those two can hang with any of the best candy lovers out there.  and sassy always likes to take a little stash for the road... who can blame her!  thanks for visiting guys!  

we had a little mini-photo session on the living room floor.  isla is changing so much and so fast that i'm starting to feel like i need to capture every different expression, or smile, or cry... i just don't want to forget those cute little moments.  

the great thing about all these pictures was they were all taken in about 1 minute!  it's amazing how an expression can change that much and that quickly!
