happy easter

how cute is isla in her first easter dress!?

she had 2 easter baskets, one from her nay nay...

and another from her mimi!

she did so good with our little photo shoot at home...

after spending friday and saturday with my family we went to the baker's for easter lunch and isla got to meet her great grandparents!  (isla was a little upset because it was time to eat)

and she got to see her uncle justin and aunt brandy again!

week 5...

we are enjoying our little love more everyday!  

i really can't believe how much isla is growing each week (doesn't she look bigger in this picture)!

isla had her first trip to cabelas this week (i'm sure it won't be her last) and i know she loved it almost as much as daddy!

we bought isla the cutest stuffed moose...

uncle blarney came over for lunch one afternoon...

we spent last weekend with my family.  isla did a little shopping with her nay nay

and watched the mavs with pops!

we also got to spend some quality time with uncle brandon and uncle blaine!

week 4...

our little lady is 1 month old!!  

i can't believe it... time really flies!  isla is growing and changing so quickly.  she is much more interactive with us and the sweet smile's and coo's are my favorite part of the day.
isla got an A++ at her one month doctor's appointment.  she is now 21 1/4 inches long (91st percentile) and weighs 9 pounds 8 ounces (70th percentile)!!  she has packed on the pounds in the last 2 weeks and it shows in her little cheeks... and chins (we love it)!  she is now wearing size 1 diapers and is still in her 0-3 month clothes.

we have been going on walks almost everyday and she loves her stroller (the BOB is amazing)

clayton and linds came over for some dinner and some cuddle time...

and nay nay came to stay with us for a few days!

she found her thumb one night while i was bathing her... it was hilarious!  and i'm yelling at mom to get the camera so i could get a picture of the first time sucking her thumb!

the weather has been so nice lately and isla loves being outside, so we spent the afternoon at the dallas arboretum... isn't she too sweet.

week 3...

i know two posts in one day... incredible!  

miss isla is 3 weeks old and i can't believe how fast the time is going.  she changes so much every week and i'm glad i have all these pictures to look back at one day.

mimi and grip (joe's parents) came to visit for the day and we all enjoyed having them here.

(in case you are wondering where the name grip came from, our 

nephews gave him that name because of his strong, firm handshake)

and she loves her changing table (and paci).

she is much more alert this week and just stares at everything.  it's so fun watching her 

discover the world around her.  

she doesn't love bath time yet, but she does love cuddling up in her
towel afterwards (and so does mommy).

week 3 we had newborn pics taken by our dear friend kate.
kate and i go way back to our college days and it was so great to see her and spend the day with her, not to mention the fantastic pictures she took!  we took some at the house and then we got a few at the dallas arboretum before i had a minor incident with a punctured foot, followed by an afternoon in urgent care (i know exciting).  here is just a sneak peak at her work and don't worry i will let everyone know when all the pics are ready!  thanks kate!

week 2...

i'm sorry this is so late... i promise to get better.

i have absolutely no idea where the time goes with a newborn.  we have been pretty busy the past 2 

weeks meeting new family and friends, trips to northpark, lunch dates, and even a little road trip to austin to help celebrate some dear friends.

at her 2 week doctor appointment isla weighed 7 pounds and 11 ounces (25th percentile) and
was 22 inches long (98 percentile).  so, for now we have a long and skinny
little lady!  just check out those fingers!

everyone loves nap time!

i'm not sure if our baby is just exceptionally strong but she can hold that head up like a champ!

and of course we had to go visit daddy at the fire station in our fdny gear (aren't those leggings
just the cutest... i can't get enough of them)
