hello instagram.

ok guys... oh the olympics!!!  

for real i'm addicted.  there is no way around it.  it's the the most inspiring, heart breaking, athletic, beautiful, emotional, nerve-wracking, fantastic thing!  i like sports and i occasionally watch them on tv (usually just the aggies) but the olympics has me wrapped around its little finger.  i will sacrifice sleep and even food for it... that's huge!  these athletes are just incredible.  not only physically but mentally.  i can't even believe the amount of self discipline, patience, and will power it must take to compete like they do.  amazing!  can i just start my life over and be a gymnast!?  maybe ;)

i can't even begin to watch all the events (i'm not even sure if half of them are televised) but if i could i so would!  love swimming, and volleyball, and of course gymnastics, and that synchronized diving is so fun too!  

can you imagine being the athletes parents!?  i can't.  i'm sure i would die of a heart attack.  i tear up every time they show the parents in the stands, and i cry every time someone medals... i know, such a girl.  and that jordyn weiber.  oh my heart just breaks for her.  can the camera man please give her a break, she is just a kid!!!  but what an awesome, classy, mature girl to be so disappointed but come out and freaking nail it in the team final.  that is the kind of role model i want my daughter to have.  pure class, she's amazing!  we love you jordyn!!
and we love the USA!!

ok, i've rambled on long enough about the olympics but seriously if you haven't been watching you are missing out!

how excited do you think i was when we showed up to work the day of opening ceremonies of the olympics and katie and i were matching!!  ly katie!

16 months.

happy 16 months little love!

this has been a fun month.  isla is getting so much more expressive, and chatty, and hilarious... she keeps us laughing all day!  we feel so blessed.

16 month favorite's:

her silly laugh.

her big smile and squinty eyes when we say 'cheese'.

i love how she says dog.  dawwwwg with this southern drawl... it's so funny!

she has discovered the chalkboard and loves to draw.
isla loves saying no.  right now it's cute but i'm sure one day it won't be.

she absolutely cannot walk, she must run everywhere!  which has led to quite a few bloody lips, scratched up knees, and stubbed toes (not a favorite).

loves to read.  

isla definitely needs time to herself, she will just go sit and play with her toys or read her books.

isla loves the water.

isla carries anything with a handle around like it's a purse.

chase is her favorite game (she is starting to hide) and she laughs so hard when we catch her.
we have to find abby first thing every morning when isla wakes up.
she knows some of her animal sounds.  the cow, dog, monkey, and lion.
her dance moves are awesome!
she so cutely points to her toes, belly, eyes, nose, and mouth.
likes to throw things down just so she can say 'uh-oh'.
such a fun age and such a sweet girl!

a couple of weeks ago we went on a little family vacation with the bakers to the frio river.   

we had such a good time.  there was lots of eating, and swimming, and tubing, and eating, and throwing washers, and laughing, and did i say eating!!  

isla loved it!  she had so much fun getting to spend time with her cousins!

thank goodness my sis in law thinks ahead and brought fun toys... mama dropped the ball on that one isles!

15 months & father's day.

happy 15 months isla grace!

isla is oh so chatty these days.  she has full out conversations for hours, if only i knew what she was saying!  it's the most precious little chatter.

she is also a little busy bee!!  literally, into everything!  it's amazing how fast she moves and how quickly one drawer can be emptied all over the floor!  

15 month favorites:
25 pounds 1 ounce (80%), 31 inches long (80%)

her sweet personality.  isla loves people and is such a social little girl.  

how isla's face lights up when her daddy walks in the room. 

so thankful for our good eater... and her chubby little legs!

isla loves abby.

8 teeth (6 top, and 2 bottom) and an insanely cute gap between her front 2 teeth :)

she can communicate very well just by pointing.  she points to everything that she wants, so helpful!  and she shakes her head 'yes' or 'no' when we ask her questions.

her words are mama, dada, dog, bird, bye bye, shoes (chews), and fish (ish), and of course no!

isla understands so much of what we are saying.  i think it is amazing to watch her get things or do things when we talk about them.  we are going to have to start spelling words soon!

isla loves being outside.

isles is such a social little girl.  she loves people watching and talking to everyone!
isla loves to dance and sing!  i just hope she gets joe's musical talent and maybe one day we can all move to nyc when she is a huge broadway star!  oh... a dream come true! :)

last week was a long week... with no ac... in texas... in june!!  HOT!!!

long story short our ac went out on monday night and was finally fixed on saturday morning.  at least it was covered by our homeowners warranty.  and thanks to great friends (delaney, mike, & aimee) for letting us interrupt your week!  

but it's fixed and all is well!  today we went tyler for ben & sassy's 4th bday party.  it was so much fun and of course kristen had another amazing party!  all her friends and family are so fun and it was great to chat and catch up with everyone.
